My mom’s chai recipe:

 

1) Boil a cup of water.

2) Add a couple of cardamom pods

3) Grate about half a small spoon of ginger.

4) Bring to a boil.

5) Add one spoon of tea leaves.

Trick is to not over boil.

And add milk. Switch off the heat. Steep for a about 30 seconds. And use a sieve to pour the chai.

When I am feeling particularly decadent,
I add a couple of saffron threads.
